I like my new job.

So far, I like working at Modern Myths. Jim the manager is a very nice and understanding fellow, and he says things like: "when you make mistakes, don't get bent out of shape. We all make them, and we can fix just about any honest mistake." After decades of feeling like a jerk because I couldn't seem to get things right, and thus becoming either rigidly perfectionist or completely apathetic, it was nice to have an (even slightly) older man who has some power over me treat me with respect and understanding and not be judgemental.

I could get used to this.

Creeped out by government surveillance of all citizens?

Click this link to go the ACLU's action page to fight the Total Information Awareness act in Congress. If we have to go, let's go down fighting on this one. This, along with war in Iraq, is in my opinion the greatest threat to the nation at this time. (Which means, I guess, that Lincoln was right--we don't need to fear outside threats unless we self-destruct.)
