If you go here: http://www.doonesbury.com/strip/dailydose/flashbacks.html today you will see that, of the six strips presented, going back 30 years in 5 year intervals, that five of the six involve Uncle Duke up to some sort of underhanded scheme.

Heh. Well, Duke is a useful way to satirize whatever underhanded scheming is going on.

I do think Doonesbury is suffering from the Lil' Abner effect (i.e., it's gone on too long), but I chuckled to read some of the old ones.
