For Whispering Mind
Dec. 12th, 2004 01:55 amI think you don't believe in yourself enough. I think you need more hope in your own future. I gather from your journal that money is tight right now and that you are feeling pretty low about it. It must be very hard to believe that you can live a life that you want to live, that you can shape your future in positive ways. I know, very very well, how tough it is recognize this power to make meaningful, positive choices. I still have trouble doing it, and I have not only been working on it for years, I have been blessed with a modicum of extra cash, so that I haven't been staring down homelessness in winter.
So, here's some truths you have forgotten:
You are caring person.
You are fun to spend time with.
You are a loyal friend.
You are worth getting to know.
You have a number of talents (cooking not least among them, but one to which I can personally attest).
You are, despite what you may think, smart. You can learn whatever you want to learn, and then do whatever you like with it. Don't be caught up in how smart you think other people are, because no one is so smart they don't make tons of mistakes, most of them repeatedly.
You have many years ahead of you, full of choices you can make which can take you into a life that satisfies you.
I don't know if that actually cheered you up. I have never done this before, so I may well have screwed this up. If so, sorry. I'll do better next time.
