Another protest event I'm considering attending

I got this in general email from GEO.

PROTEST "SPECIAL REGISTRATION"
Thursday, April 10, 2003--Noon
JFK Federal Building, Government Center, Boston (by the Government Center T on the Green and Blue Lines)

Solidarity with Arab, Muslim, and South Asian Students, to protest government's Special registration program. These members of our community must
submit photographing and fingerprinting or face severe legal penalties. Untold numbers of immigrant men have been silently imprisoned in variaous parts of
the country, including students who have been imprisoned for being a few credits below full-time enrollment status.

Student registrants will join the noontime picketline after registration.

I have been to several of those protests in support of Arab/Indian/Muslim students. Many of my good friends are Arabs and Muslims and it is terrible to think of them being detained simply because of their race or religion. I think our country should try to form solidarity with other Americans during this hard time, but apparently our government doesn't think so.
