*been to seen the Daredevil movie, which wasn't bad. I wasn't itching for my two hours back, at least.

*watched a movie called Scratch about DJs and the rise of the whole DJ music scene. It's something I never would have watched if Millari had rented it, but I found it really terrific.

*attended a production of Marivaux's 1744 play, La Dispute, at the ART in Cambridge. I haven't read the original script, but if the adaptation is faithful, then it's a really weird piece. Marivaux himself apparently withdrew it after 1 performance, and it wasn't done again until the 1930s. All the actors were trained in something called the Suzuki method, which seems to involve a lot of posturing on stage. It was interesting, and some what I took to be the method stuff worked, so I on the whole I enjoyed it, but I don't know that I'd recommend it unless you were in the mood for something off-kilter. (SSC take note. :)

This was sort of a doubledate with Millari, my brother, and BionicBabe. BB has really cute cats, and it was fun to hang out and watch them play.

*Saw Shanghai Knights with Shadow and Pixi. A lot of the movie was lame and stupid, but some of the action was really terrific, especially the fight scene set to Singing in the Rain, and which referenced Gene Kelly's dancing in the choreography. Chan should just release a film which is nothing but musical pastiches and out-takes, since it's all we really want from him, anyway. :)

*had brunch with Millari, my parents, her parents, and my brother, at the Andover Inn. A very tasty and filling meal, and a very nice time. Afterwards, at my dad's suggestion, we went across the street to the Addison gallery and saw their special exhibition of pieces from their permanent collection, much of which I hadn't seen since I was a kid. I was especially pleased to see what has long been my favorite painting, a portrait by Thomas Eakins. I had forgotten that the subject was Henry Rowland, the original professor of Physics at Johns Hopkins. I have to tell Larry about this. (For more on the Addison Gallery, check out http://www.andover.edu/addison/ )

*spent four hours driving back from Boston in the storm yesterday. It was a difficult, tedious process, but I did pretty well, considering we were in Millari's car, and I'm still getting used to stick.
