Ah, life...
Feb. 8th, 2002 07:23 pmRecently, my ISP decided to close down the server on which my account has been happily ticking over for lo, these four years, and move me to a new one. This entails a change of address from javanet.com to rcn. com. I went to their website, followed their instructions, and moved my account on Tuesday. I then spent 20 minutes waiting to have a five minute conversation with tech support to fix the problems I was then having with email. (It turns out that they forgot to tell us that there would be a different outgoing email server, and what its designation would be.)
Just now, I have received an email from RCN. It begins--
Dear Customer:
As you know, RCN is decommissioning the JavaNet servers and moving your account to RCN servers. We noticed that your account has not yet migrated. Please take a moment to migrate this account before Monday, February 11th in order to insure uninterrupted Internet service.
