I was checking out Chinachewy's LJ, and found a link to someone else's, which I followed, and happened upon this in their friends list. It's very sad, but like most humans I find raw grief compelling, so I post it in case anyone else is interested and/or wishes to send condolences to a total stranger. If not, just pass it by. It's nothing gross, or fucked up. It's just human sadness.

my gods, this is sad. it forcefully brought me back to the day when one of my brother's best friends died in a car crash and another friend called the house sobbing with the news late at night. I was the one who answered the phone, so I heard about it first. Waking up my brother and handing him the phone knowing what he was about to hear was one of the most ambivalent experiences of my life, I think, being at the precipice of such intense sadness, experiencing the moment just before it all comes crashing down.

Btw, I think what you said in her journal was just right.

Thanks. I hope that when I finally lose someone close to me that I shall deal with it as well as she has.
