I learned today that apparently, one of my front teeth is dead, so tomorrow morning I go in for a root canal to fix it. I hope that they get the anaesthesia right.
aren't you glad you're not in, say, the 12th century right now? :) technology is good.
i know it's a little scary, but don't worry, i'm sure it will be fine... dentists do this every single day and your tooth will be grateful to you after it's over.
I feared not, and as it turned out, I was right to do so. Thanks for the encouragement. Happily, I will keep the tooth, and I can otherwise act normally with my temporary filling.
Since you are much more diligent about taking care of your teeth, I fear that this is going to be my multiple-toothed horror of the future. Must make dentist appointment before I have the teeth of someone in the 14th century....
I'm sorry you have to go through this. Lie back and think of England, I guess.
Call me on the cell if you are a big lump of walking anaesthesia and need a ride home or something. Or even if you just want someone to fuss over you. I can do that too.
The dentist looked at my X-Rays, suspected I had a dead tooth, and then tested the nerve sensitivity by dabbing it with something really cold. My other teeth could feel it. The dead one could not. So, since it would apparently abcess and get infected sooner or later, out it came. Yeah for dental insurance!
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this!! I have bad teeth, so I can really feel your pain. Hey, I sent you an email about this afternoon, but let's instead get together next week, when your teeth aren't being drilled? MWF afternoons are all free for me -- we can discuss.
Oops, I'm sorry. :( The tooth situation sounded dire, so I didn't want to bug you. I ended up sitting in Capo's reading Hawthorne for most of the afternoon, and am very sorry to have missed you.
And the pastry shop sounds ideal -- how about Monday at 3? :)

PS Jim and I are out celebrating our anniversary tonight, so won't be able to stop in, but will do so again soon!
Monday at 3 is no good, I have seminar at Amherst College. Also, today, my mouth is bothering me. Which is weird, because it doesn't seem like an infection, but I didn't start to hurt until yesterday (Sat.) evening. Hmph!
