Nov. 15th, 2022 08:05 pmI'm visiting with Usakeh right now, part of an extended jaunt that will soon take me to Hawaii to spend Thanksgiving with my uncle and other relatives there. The weather as I left was unseasonably sultry, thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Nicole coming up the coast. It's apparently snowing there now.
The flights themselves were fine. I watched out Confess, Fletch (which was fine) and Encanto (which was a delightful Pixar cartoon), and checked out Aquaman, which looks tedious, and The Green Knight with Dev Patel, which looks interestingly surreal and symbolic.
Since my last post, I have sold the family house in Andover, our home for 37 years. Of course, there's no "our" anymore, which is why I passed it on. According to the inflation calculator site, even adjusting for inflation, I still made $200,000 in today's money over what mom and dad paid back then.
I started renting an office down in Holyoke to try and have a place to go outside the house, to have a space to work on projects to live the life I want to live. It's absurdly privileged, but I hope it will help me do more with my time than just surf the net all day.
