So, for the first time in many moons, I actually got some writing done for school. I owe it all to Sydneycat, who basically spent two days of her vacation last week sitting in uncomfortable chairs in my carrel proctoring me. It's only a small beginning, and I have to keep doing it for many days to come. Happily, Millari was speaking to Solstyce, who suggested that I come up to the twenty-second floor of the library and work with her. That's really cool, and just what I need: someone who is there, who will notice if I start fucking around. Thanks so much Syd and Sol!

btw: deadline to pass my comps and complete all my incompletes and graduate this spring: april 30. And I think that if I don't graduate this spring, I'm out of time. -gulp-

Mr. Rogers

When I was a little boy, I absolutely adored my father. When he would come home from work, I would run down the front hall and fling myself into his arms. And, when I was very small, I used to love Mr. Rogers. Of course, I used to have trouble understanding that Mr. Rogers wasn't my dad. They did look and dress very much alike (and are almost the same age), of course, but looking back, I think Mr. Rogers was something of the dad I wanted to have, but didn't, someone who didn't raise his voice, someone who was very patient and always very interested in me, someone who had a whole show just for me every day. I know it wasn't true, but back then I think maybe I needed it to be.

And now that phantom father is dead.
