An appeal to the audience.
May. 19th, 2002 11:14 pmIn the comment section of my journal (http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=grinninfoole&itemid=4426) I have been conducting a conversation with an interesting woman in Texas who goes by the handle Chinachewy. Recently, when I told her that even my friends seemed to think that I'm weird, she asked me why, and I was st uck for an answer: "People call me 'weird' because...uh, well, I'm not sure. I think it's because I'm somewhat oblivious to social conventions. I'd have to ask my friends for a better answer. "
Well, that's what I'm doing here, and I ask not just for Chewy's benefit, but for my own. Why is it, exactly, that I am weird? I tell you, as Marty Feldman is my witness, that I really don't get it.
