Happy birthday to my dear wife [livejournal.com profile] millari.  Tomorrow, as it happens, also marks the 20th anniversary of the first time we met.  I would never have guessed then how our lives would mingle; I hope the next two decades are equally good to us.

I keep meaning to post, and then not doing so, because writing takes effort, and I am getting lazy (and fat!  Up 30 pounds since January, and my clothes are getting uncomfortably tight.) There are many things to share, but I'll limit myself to the following for now:

1) checked out the Noho Burlesque show last Saturday, and had a great time.  Some acts were hot, and all were fun and entertaining.  And, while I felt very straight and WASPy, I nevertheless volunteered for a musical chairs game on stage, which impressed some of the regulars.

2) Deep Space Nine continues to rock.  Finished season 4, looking foward to season 5.

3) I was very ill at the beginning of the month, so I wanted company and mental stimulation, but was too sick to leave the house and find them, and I soon couldn't sleep all the time I needed to lie around.  So I finally made time for Veronica Mars season 2.  WOW!  Such a good follow up to season 1.  I hope season 3 is also as good.  Must find someone from whom I might borrow it.

Also, finally started watching Misfits on Hulu, a BBC series that Daybreak had long raved about to me.  And after 4 episodes, I'm hooked.  It's really catchy, off-beat stuff.  Best use of superpowers in any medium, especially TV, in a long time.  MUCH better than Heroes.

4)  I have a new work schedule emerging, with more free evenings and weekends.  Drop me a line if you want to get in touch.

5) I'm becoming a Magic the Gathering junkie again, and I don't care.

that's all for now.  I hope all of you are well.  I'm having good days and bad days, but the lows still aren't as low, thanks to Sertraline.  I'm glad it's working for me.

-I'm glad you're feeling better!
-I should really check out The Misfits.
-That reminds me, I never got around to watching more Veronica Mars. I loaned all my dvds out to someone, but I think all 3 seasons are still on Netflix Instant Play.

Happy birthday to my dear wife millari ... I hope the next two decades are equally good to us.

Thanks! And I hope so too. :)

checked out the Noho Burlesque show last Saturday, and had a great time.

I'm so glad you had fun at that. I've heard good things about it. I knew when you told me you were going and who you were going with that you would have fun.

I was very ill at the beginning of the month ... So I finally made time for Veronica Mars season 2.

It sounds like that was really great. I'll have to check it out. Reminds me randomly that I want to watch the 2nd season of Rome too.

Also, finally started watching Misfits on Hulu

YAY MISFITS! I can't believe it's on Hulu. That's awesome. I'll have to check that out as we get closer to the s3 premiere in December, so I can remember everything.

I'm becoming a Magic the Gathering junkie again, and I don't care.

Heh. I envision Steve and [livejournal.com profile] morlock showing up more often... ;)

I'm having good days and bad days, but the lows still aren't as low, thanks to Sertraline.

Oh, you changed meds since I've been gone! I'm glad you've found something that's working better for you. I know finding the right med for that kind of stuff can be such a big dragon chase for some folks. Sounds like you lucked out.
