I happened upon an older entry in a friend's journal, and I fell in love with this idea again, so here it is:

Post your favorite FAKE memory of me. No reality, please, just 100% fictitious anecdotes.

There WAS that night a few years ago you called me for assistance because a shipload of Centaurians had beamed down into the store and y'all needed my xenolinguistic skills (cause all Black women have them, Star Trek said so). Interrupted some prime quality sexing too. Still haven't forgiven you for that.

The irony, of course, is that 'xenolinguistic skills' was code for 'hot alien sex.' They were totally trying to hook up with you (and ignoring ME!), and you were so busy snarking at me, you missed it.

I am sorry to mess up your nookie, though.

Upside: they bought $500 worth of board games and yaoi.

which you then didn't share.

Which? The yaoi, the board games, or the money?

Remember that time we killed those illegal immigrants and sold the bodies to a sausage factory? And then we went to McDonalds and you were all "I gotta have a Whaler!" and the clerk was all "It's Filet O Fish, not Whaler" and you shot her? :)

Good times my friend :)

To be fair, we were in Hartford. I thought they'd show some pride in their NHL franchise.

And I still have nightmares about what you did to the poor assistant manager.

Back in the day you used to get drunk at the Cloud City cafe. Remember when that girl . . . Renee? thought you were from Paris? Your French was that good. Whatever happened to days like that? Seriously, I think we are getting old GF. It’s too bad too. I miss it.

And you should get your pilot’s license back. Skies are so clear these days.

Ah, Renee. La belle fille de Nuages. She was something. My French was only that good when I spoke with her.

It's all gone now, though, kiddo. We ARE too old. And Cloud City has drifted too far off course.

And, I suppose it doesn't matter anymore, so I'll admit the truth at last: I never had a license. Hell, it wasn't even my plane.

What did you do with all those photos you took?

Yeah, we got old. It happens.

But wait, you never had a license?! No shit! Whose plane was that? Dayum.

That's right! The photos! I do still have them somewhere. I was supposed to keep them for evidence for at least ten years anyway. You sure you wanna see them? ;-)

Jake's building a new Cloud City Cafe on Valhalla with his new wife. It should be done soon. He says we are always welcome, but you know gotta deal with the valkyries. But hell, Jake was the best!

Road trip?

For me, really, it has to be that time in Exeter where you were so moved by the sight of a single escalator that had been made by the Otis company that you burst into tears at the sight of it. And then lay down before it, and tried to cradle each and every moving stair before it vanished underfoot.

It was in an HMV, I recall.

OK, Mr. I-Can't-Follow-Directions, these were supposed to FICTIONAL memories. It was years before I could enter multistory buildings again, and Vanilla Ice's "Ice, Ice Baby" still gives me flashbacks.

Did you ever get that signed Freddy Mercury record?
