All of this has happened before...

and will happen again....
The rules:
1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
Asking me why I am doing this yet again doesn't count, because I'll give that up for free:
millari (you know, the quiet one who relies on me to handle social bonds?) has made tons of new friends via this here website, and now that I'm starting to get to know them, I'm extend the virtual olive branch.
Anyone who calls me "Ofmichelle" will be reported to Ordnance & Control.

Date: 2009-11-16 12:24 pm (UTC)I know! I keep telling them that, but do they listen?
Date: 2009-11-16 06:22 pm (UTC)2) What was the transformative book, movie, TV show, comic, etc. that made you love SF and/or Fantasy?
3) What major life goal would you like to achieve by the time you are 40?
4) Ok, you've been in a few rodeos, so what's your take on polyamory as a personal decision (not a general philosophy), now?
5) You have been interested in NaNoWriMo for the past couple of years. Do you work on the same novel, or do you start a new one each time?

Date: 2009-11-16 06:41 pm (UTC)2) I know you like the BSG. What other SF and/or fantasy do you like?
3) I know you are pursuing a graduate degree. What degree, in what field? What are you actually writing about? What do you plan to do once you have the degree? And where are you studying? Also, what are the two or three books in your field that every has read?
4) Do you have a driving license? If not, why not? Do you like auto travel? If so, do you own car? Do you like to drive? How much difference does your automotive status make to your quality of life?
5) Have you ever been to the USA? If so, where, when, and why did you go? How did it compare to your expecations? If not, do you want to go? If so, for how long have you wanted to? Or if not, why not? This could devolve into a tedious array of conditionals, but I think you get the idea.

Date: 2009-11-18 04:52 am (UTC)2) What brought you to BSG? Are there other fandoms that you like? Oh, what is it about AJ that gets you?
3) Why do you want to be a lawyer?
4) You are vouchsafed a vision of the divine countenance. What music is playing in the background?
5) You seem lonely in your LJ. Are you?

Date: 2009-11-19 12:44 am (UTC)2. A: My ex-roommate (who I've since had a falling out with and I'm not sure why). She mentioned that she was going to see the premiere of Battlestar Galactica season 4.5 at the Alamo Drafthouse and my response was "What's Battlestar Galactica?" She then insisted I sit down and watch the miniseries right then and there. So we did. I've been hooked ever since.
B: Popslash. But I tend to keep that one to myself. :)
C: About AJ? Um, in short, that he seems like the kind of guy I'd like to hang out with.
3. I work with lawyers currently, and I think the process is interesting. I also want a job that challenges me intelletually, and I think the legal field would do that.
4. What If God Was One of Us.
5. Truthfully, yes. At times, at least. I haven't really made any friends down here. It's difficult when you're not around people your own age all that often (like in college), plus, I'm just not that outgoing to begin with. Above mentioned falling out with roommate also had a big effect on that, since most of the people I knew here were her friends.

Date: 2009-11-20 08:21 am (UTC)2) Season 4.5? Wow, you did come late to the party.
3) Yes, thinking does seem part of the job. But, do you have dreams of arguing before the Supreme Court? Or winning a huge class action suit for orphaned widows? Or sending Bin Laden to the slammer?
4) Do you experience a sense of transcendence with other songs by Jewel, or just that one?
5) I'm sorry to hear that. If I knew anyone in Texas, I would arrange an introduction.
Re: follow ups
Date: 2009-11-20 06:36 pm (UTC)2. Yes I did. But we didn't get Sci-fi in the cable package at college, which I think is why I never heard of it.
3. I'm looking to go into immigration law. Arguing before the Supreme Court would be cool, but most of those are civil suits. Then again, who knows where I'll end up.
4. That song isn't by Jewel.

Date: 2009-11-18 05:00 am (UTC)2) What is it about Jean that you find appealing enough to cosplay as her?
3) What is the appeal of role playing games for you?
4) Where do you fall on the Kinsey scale?
5) What do like about BSG? Are there other fandoms that you like? Oh, what is it about AJ that gets you?

Date: 2009-11-20 07:51 pm (UTC)2) What fic would you like me to write for you?
3) What do you wish we did together more? Or at all?
4) When we win the lottery, what pie-in-the-sky wish do you want to spend tons of money to fulfill?
5) Is there anything you miss about your first marriage?

Date: 2009-11-21 02:48 am (UTC)So a start date? Um, maybe end of January?
2. I'd like you to write me the fic where you really make me get what you see in Lee Adama. I've developed a begrudging fondness for the man, but you really believe in him. I'd like to see him through your eyes and be convinced.
3. Dance. There are probably other things, but this one came to mind immediately. I don't spend time pining for lost opportunities, but it's the thing that I go back to every once in a while when I think of it most often with a wistful sigh.
4. Hmm...a few come to mind, actually. Convert our house so that it's off the grid? Live abroad for a number of years until our parents get too old to take care of themselves? Start a publishing company that would produce books that are actually entertaining and level-appropriate stories for the kinds of students I teach. Everyone I've ever talked in the field has convinced me that there's a huge untapped market potential there.
5. You know, I thought that there had to be something, but actually no. Nothing that I can think of. I did some significant maturing as result of my marriage and I learned a lot from its breakup. But it needed to end and I don't really regret it ending or miss anything from it because I've outgrown it and was looking for something different by the time I left.
Thanks for giving me questions! They were fun and unexpectedly challenging.
