[livejournal.com profile] sundart asked me some questions last month.

My answers are below the cut.  If you'd like me to ask you some questions, just ask me to do so in the comments below.

1. What's your favorite thing about being married?
Knowing M so well that we have a kind of telepathy… and that I can still sometimes surprise her and make her laugh.

2. What's your favorite comic book story arc, and why?
I don’t I have a favorite comic in the way that I have a favorite prose story.    But, the first thing that came to mind is the American Gothic from Swamp Thing, written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Rick Veitch and Steve Bissette (and possibly John Totleben.)  It’s wonderfully creepy in places, and Moore turns several staid horror conventions on their heads to great effect: zombie stories are really about the way in which the past haunts the present, so set the story at an ante-bellum southern plantation; werewolves are really about people turning into beasts when under the influence of “the feminine”, so what better way to reveal the sexism of our society?  Plus, it introduces John Constantine, and features a cabal of wizards who already do rule the world in secret, and have grander ambitions.  Plus, really well done art that manages to overcome the terrible coloring processes of mid-80s comics.

3. How much time do you spend writing in an average week?
These days?  None, sadly.    I have some amends to make, and then maybe it’ll be better.  I haven’t written anything since the Yuletide Treasure exchange last December.

4. If you could only eat at one particular restaurant for the rest of your life which one would it be?
I can’t think of any restaurant that wouldn’t become maddenly familiar after 30-60 years, but I’d pick Bueno  Y Sano, because it is good and it is healthy.

5. What is your proudest accomplishment to date?
You know, I don’t know.  I suppose getting my master’s degree, though there was a time that I just didn’t believe that I’d ever find love, hold a steady job, and own a home.  But, sadly, I don’t really think of myself as a person of accomplishments.  I should change that.

What? You want more? Ok....
