It's been a good last few days, though, as always, Ihaven't done a number of things that I wanted to 'get done'. Since getting back from VAncouver, I worked several days in a row, and then ran a D&D game at the store for World Wide D&D Day.  That was fun, and got us talking about doing more events at the store, which we'll start doing in the new year.  (Watch the store's LJ for info.)

This past Tuesday, and guy walked up to me at work and asked me if I'd been to Vancouver recently.  I admitted that I had, and asked why he asked, and it turned out that he worked for Wired Online and wanted to do an article about our trip to Vancouver, since it was, in no small part, motivated by a desire to see where they filmed our favorite TV show, Battlestar Galactica.  Apparently, we aren't the only 'Caprica tourists' out there, but we were conveniently close to his house, so we three talked for an hour over supper at the Route 9 Diner.   I'll post a link when the article goes up.

This past Friday, M and visited a friend in the hospital.  It was a bit of an adventure driving out to White Plains and then back in the same evening, more so because M was delayed by staff meetings and such.  I have never visited a mental hospital before, and it was weird because 1) it was a lot like any other hospital or nursing home and 2) the normal protocol of 'ignore the other patients while you visit the person you came to see' doesn't work so well when the other patients start talking about you loudly to their guests.  Hardly the worst place I have ever been, yet I can see that it must be a difficult place to live, even for a short time.

Saturday, M and I had Sundart and Anzovin over for brunch, and had a lovely time.  We know them both somewhat through other people, and decided that we should get to know them better.  Hooray for social contacts!

Today has been a weird composite of naps, cat cuddling, and internets.  Happily, I finished the big, dorky fan fiction piece I have been writing for months.  Yay!  Anyway, now to cook supper.
