Apr. 25th, 2007 01:38 amI have realized today that, despite spending years trying to live differently from my father, I have been repeating one of his basic life mistakes these past few months. Namely, instead of taking on new challenges and living life, I have been going to work, coming home, retreating into my shell, and hoping that my wife will fill the gaps in my life. And, to her credit, she does fill a few. But, in contrast to me, she's gotten involved in a BSG fanfic writing project that's not only lead her to write prolifically and consistently, she's also making new friends doing it.
So, I have a line on a Wednesday night writing group I might join. Next week, when I will have a day off, I'll start looking for a teaching gig I can fit in around my day job.
Two other important projects: get financially organized so we can figure out what we can and can't afford, and find someone to pave the driveway.
And, since someone today asked me what I'd like to have accomplished in five years time, I want to make Shodan in Aikido.

Oh, and I love you.
