I am taking this from the journal of [livejournal.com profile] sphinxvictorian, because it charms me enough to overcome my distaste for memes. Maybe it's that she used 'verily' in her blurb. :)

"Pick an interest from my interests list that either 1) you know nothing about but sounds intriguing, or 2) you know something about but can't fathom why yours truly would be interested in it, and demand an explanation. Verily, I will provide."

(Congratulations to her and [livejournal.com profile] cirrussundog on their wonderful wedding on June 7, and thanks for inviting Millari and me. :)

The Cloth is the name for the game world I created back in 92 and that I have been running D&D games on (and tinkering with) since then. There are varying stories, but version I like best is that after Render made the world, it realized that the designs for life called for some place other than liquid water for all these plants and creatures and things to be. So, Render draped his or her cloak over the water and made the land. The rest is history.

not that actual people from the Cloth would tell it like that.

Mark Evanier (Ev-an-ear) writes comics, TV and movie scripts. He got his start in comics working as Jack Kirby's personal assistant. He writes Groo the Wanderer with Sergio Aragones. He does wonderful columns on comics and showbiz at http://povonline.com/ . These have been collected into two volumes so far: Wertham Was Right and Comic Books and Other Necessities of Life. Both of these books are available in the Lit/Crit section at Modern Myths comics and games in Northampton, MA. (http://www.modern-myths.com)

But you probably could have guessed that last bit. According to Stan Sakai, he's an incredibly nice person, too. I really, really want to meet him some time.
