On Sunday, Filthyassistant graduated from Smith. She looked really happy and, unlike Sydneycat's ceremony in 2000, the speaker did not suck donkey balls. (Yay Judy Woodruff, boo Judy Chicago). I was a little sad that, if I hadn't been accompanying my mom, I wouldn't have been welcome. But, in my own little way I helped make Sunday possible and I am pleased to see FA enjoy the fruits she deserves for her years of labors.

Last night, Millari and I went to a King Radio CD release party at the Iron Horse. I had a good time, M's ex actually greeted me (I only went because he invited me in the first place), and it was good to see folks again, who were all very friendly to me. They played a number of songs that I knew in arrangements that I didn't, and which I quite liked. Millari did cry at one song, but it was OK, and I she really appreciated being acknowledged twice from the stage.

I must share the amusing promo blurb he wrote (something he has always done well):

"Paul McCartney, Burt Bachrach, and Brian Wilson have all formed a super-group in singer/songwriter Frank Padellaro's head and they called it King Radio. The band's new release Are You The Sick Passenger? paints a lyrical tumult over sunny soundscapes, to create wonderfully lush and layered symphonic pop. If the idea of music that can be described as lovely scares you, then you will find this album absolutely terrifying."

Yes and by not discussing any of the plans with me (and it was my day after all, not yours) and simply making the decisions, you took away the one thing that would have made me happy. Making my decisions for me, me finding out too late to do anything about it when there's at least three obvious solutions, how I love that old pattern. You either did it thoughtlessly, or with malice. Given the rest of the history, I'd put money on the latter. And how dare you even consider that you had anything to do with my acheivement? I only succeeded the third time because I wasn't living with you anymore. I was taking harder classes and living with nightmares, but at least I could ignore them without being a "bad friend." No one who routinely tells me I'm a bad friend is welcome at the crowning achievement of the first third of my life. You may consider the "rift" permanent.
