Update from Andover

grinninfooleI came up last Wednesday night to help out around mom's surgery, and it's been OK staying here in my parents' house. M has been here since Saturday, and we've been able to spend some time together, and go and visit our mothers in their respective hospitals.
My mother's operation was last Thursday, and I'm happy to report that all went very well. In fact, things have gone so smoothly that mom has actually come home today, a day early. This is good. Now that she's home, she's very tired and anxious, my dad is bellowing and whining, and I'm getting really frustrated. I very much want to go home right now, but I'll be here for at least another week. This is going to be very trying.
When I'm not being helpful, I need to be reading for school and resist the temptation to read other stuff, or watch tv, or whatever, which the old family dynamic really triggers for me. It's also quite tempting to give my dad a slap sometimes, especially when he is so disrespectful of all of us.
thanks to Lefty and Fuschia for swapping cars with me for this trip. I have enjoying their cds and cd player. I hope Boskone went well.
