Here is a fascinating article from the BBC magazine about US plans to use Sesame Street as propaganda. It's alternately horrible and wonderful. Check it out:

The US Army's use of the Sesame Street theme song for psychological torture really creeps me out.r

Unfortunately, this plan has already failed, due to infiltration of Sesame Street by al-Qaida.

The first evidence of this was the notorious picture (http://www.snopes2.com/rumors/bert.htm) of Bert with Osama bin Ladin.

Further investigation has determined that at least two other Sesame Street characters are al-Qaida connected.

The first is the Amazing Mumford: his constant invocation of Allah (masked by throwing the phrase "peanut butter sandwiches") is a dead giveaway.

The other is far more threatening, as he indoctrinates young children worldwide during his portion of the Sesame Street program. His name is Al-mo.

(Note: yes, this is a joke.)

No, no, you're dead on about Mumford, but you haven't mentioned the real secret, which is that he's also the Mad Bomber. Hey, when have you ever seen both puppets together?
