"The people of the United States and our friends and allies will not live at the mercy of an outlaw regime that threatens the peace with weapons of mass murder. " George W. Bush, not (intentionally) referring to himself.
Maybe. Maybe not. I doubt that it would make a difference.
Besides, ghastly as Hiroshima and Nagasaki were, one could point out that we were in a formally declared war with Japan at the time and that no one really understood what it would be like. Like my affair with Susan, I understood that it would be a bad idea, but not exactly how, until after I'd done it.
W is more like the frat boys who get girls drunk/high at parties, browbeat them into sexual situations, tape it, and then put it on the web.
My point was that, although there were many threats of their use, no one but the US has ACTUALLY used them and we are therefore the greatest threat. I am aware that WWII was formally delared and this one isn't. That makes this a legally questionable action. Outlaws who've used WMD = US. That was my point.
