Quick Dr. Who prediction

I have yet to see the most recent episode, Dark Water, so I may be completely wrong, but I do wonder if this mysterious Missy and her apparent afterlife and Promised Land might not be connected to an old story from the Tom Baker era. I can't recall the title, but it was about a group of survivors of some terrible calamity wandering the universe in a ship called the P7E, looking for their lost genetic repository (the 'race bank') and a home on which to restart their civilization. They had been at it for quite a long time, and would have died out long before, except that they were from a planet that the Time Lords had meddled with, so everyone left on the ship couldn't die, because of some variation on Time Lord regenerative technology. Beyond the thematic similarities, I don't see how this would connect with this season's story arc... other than the Doctor saying it was time to fix his mistakes.

Anyway, off to the brain box to watch on demand, see if I'm right.
