Another Halloween, another huge storm
Oct. 30th, 2012 02:00 amHurricane Sandy is tearing up New York and New Jersey, dumping snow in West Virginia, and even causing a storm surge up in Maine. Here in western MA, however, it's underwhelming, with winds of about 20 mph, and perhaps an inch of rain. I think it's worse out near Boston, but for us it's fine. We still closed the store at 6 PM, because it was quite slow, and all the other businesses were closed, and I wanted to go to a Doctor Who thing at Popcorn Noir, which was quite fun. They have tasty food which is better suited to snacking than to a meal, but still well worth getting.
I'm not sure quite why, but Feisty has been very affectionate of late, with lots of purring, snuggling and aggressively seeking my attention. Not that I am loathe to give it. <3
I shall be out in New York from Friday to Sunday, working at the other Modern Myths. I'm a bit nervous that I'll somehow screw something up, but I'm excited to be tackling something new.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that, in the midst of all the dashing around for family visits and festival organization, I completely forgot that I had tickets to see Rush last Wednesday in Boston. Happily, I already had the day off, and my brother graciously changed plans and came to the show with us (MAMEd, his brother, and another friend). MAMEd's brother gave me a concert shirt because, back in '97 on the Test For Echo tour, he'd been recovering from a motorcycle crash and was so jacked up on painkillers that he lost his concert shirt. I gave him mine then, and 15 years later he returned the favor, which I didn't remember doing at all. I used to listen Rush all the time, now hardly ever. It's weird how things change.
