Over the past ten days, I have:

picked up Skull Jr. from my parents

Had an annual physical  (apparently, I need to exercise, but am otherwise healthy)

Had a trial visit with a local writing group, which I quite liked.  May start doing that on Wednesday nights.  Have made slow progress on the BSG fan fic I'm writing.

Met with our lawyer to make new wills, and discovered that I don't actually have a will anymore, since I got married.

Met with a guy about paving our driveway.

Went to see Rush last night with MAMEd, Secretive and two kids who were born the year Presto came out.  Most of the fans were white dudes in their thirties and older, like me.  Afterwards, back in Ludlow, we played a late night game of China, which is very good, and actually is a little better than Web of Power.

Read two John Varley novels (Mammoth and Red Lightning, the second of which totally sucked me in.  I had a ton of things to do today, I did none of them while I kept reading.  I had forgotten how engrossing Varley can be.  Mammoth was a very good and touching time-travel/love story, but Red Lightning is a coming of age/disaster/political novel, and I couldn't stop reading it.  I regret that, but it feels really good to have gotten sucked into SF like that again.  I really like getting hooked by art.  It's harder for me to do that these days.  I pickier and I have more things to do, and I'm less interested in getting sucked in to things as I was in high school.)

Went to see Fantastic Four 2 with Suave.  I knew from Lefty, Wandelrust and OM that it was horrible (and it was), but Suave would not be dissuaded, so I went with him anyway.  Next time, he should listen to me, though he made it up to me by scoring us passes to see Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black at the Iron Horse this evening (a funny show).  Afterwards, Millari and I had supper and very pleasant conversation with him and his charming girlfriend (who totally needs an alias).

Now, I have posted this, so at least I'm keeping the world up to date on my activities.  Hurray.
