David Tennant
Oct. 18th, 2006 01:10 amI have seen five of the David Tennant Dr. Who episodes now. The first three all had their moments, but Tooth and Claw, in particular, with the werewolf, was pretty crap. However, School Reunion and Girl In The Fireplace were really quite good. I loved the moment when Sarah Jane Smith asked the Doctor why he'd never come back for her. And Girl has to be the saddest Dr. Who episode ever. I genuinely wanted to cry for the Doctor by the end. Rienette's (little queen, nice touch) immediate understanding of the Doctor's deep loneliness was really touching. I'm glad to see that the writers haven't lost it, and that they continue to produce episodes as good as the ones with Eccleston.
Next up, Cybermen....
OH, and I was amused to see biologist Richard Dawkins on the Colbert Report tonight. He was extremely interesting, and spoke about evolution, intelligent design and atheism. I mention it here because he is married to Lalla Ward. (There's a companion I'd love to see again!)
