Comfort Books
Dec. 8th, 2005 11:10 pmI have recently had occasion to consider how I deal with stress, and I realize that one thing I do is read certain books, which I dub Comfort Books.
For me, a few which come to mind are:
J.R.R. Tolkien, Author of the Century by Tom Shippey
Science Fiction In The Real World by Norman Spinrad
The Lord of the Rings
Astro City: the Tarnished Angel by Kurt Busiek and others
Buck Godot: Zap Gun For Hire (and others) by Phil Foglio
Game of Thrones et al by George R.R. Martin
there are more, I'm sure, but I can't think of them right now. Anyway, gentle readers, I'm curious:
What are your comfort books?
